Why is it time to mop my kitchen floor? Simple! Because it’s time to pin baste a certain space quilt on my kitchen floor!
I finished the top shortly after my last post, but am now scared to quilt it. I have a couple random donation baby quilt tops sitting here too, so I think I’ll get them ready to baste at the same time and then quilt them first to get all my tension and haven’t-free-motion-quilted-in-months jitters figured out.
Wish me luck!
OH, I’ll give close-ups of the quilt when it’s all done. I think I’m still going to add a little bit to the space suit — maybe draw on a flag? And the blue tape won’t be staying of course — I just needed to hide the name written on the rocket — the baby’s mom *might* be a lurker!

I'm nanann! I am a 30-something mom to 2 beautiful girls (6 and 4) living in Austin, Texas. I LOVE quilting and have recently taken up sewing clothes since it is just too much fun to do for my girls. This blog is a little bit about my quilting (or making of “woogies” as they’re known in my household) and other crafts, and a little bit about my two girls.

so, so, so awesome! I love how the earth and moon turned out, the stripes on the rocket and the flames coming out. All the colors work so well together. It’s amazing!

Beautiful quilts. Beautiful sewing projects. I also live in Austin (south) and love to sew and quilt. I sew for my grandchildren mostly.
Sorry for the very belated response, but thanks so much for stopping by my blog and commenting on my quilts!
I admit I tend to stay in north Austin these days, but my goodness I love some of the quilts shops south of the river. And I imagine sewing for your grandchildren has to be tons of fun!
[...] tops. Can’t say I’m looking forward to that, but I hope to do some tonight — the kitchen floor is mopped and ready! I definitely don’t have enough pins for all of them, though, so I’ll have to [...]
